Big thumbs up! I stayed there a couple of days last week and was impressed by how clean and orderly everything is. Not a stone out of place! Looking forward to returning later in the season when the pool is open and enjoying the summer activities too!
WE HAVE STAYED THERE THE LAST FOUR YEARS, AND WE LOVE STAYING THERE. WE GO EVERY OCTOBER, ON OUR ANNIVERSARY. BARRY AND CHONG ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND THEIR CAMP SITES ARE VERY LEVEL, AND CAMPSITE AREA IS VERY CLEAN.
My Wife and I recently spent 9 nights at the Smoky Bear Campground with our wonderful & superb hosts, Chong & Barry O' Leary. The "5 Star" rating isn't high enough.....there should be a "6 Star rating" for a place like Smoky Bear Campground because the intricate attention to detail is in everything that you use, see, or touch all during your stay. The bathroom/shower facilities are spotlessly clean, and nicely decorated, as is the laundry facilities, and the entire RV Park & Campground. The newly cemented pull through sites are indicative of the attention to detail because they are perfectly level and have just a slight taper on the left side of the pad, that allows for better drainage of fluids through the septic hose. My Wife and I have camped in KOA's and privately owned campsites from Alaska to Louisiana, from Michigan to Washington State, and we have never - ever been in a RV Park like Smoky Bear Campground. The personal attention that Chong & Barry give to their customers, and their ability to make you feel like their family is wonderful and something I have never experienced from owners/caretakers of any RV Park we have stayed in throughout the United States. Just returned from 5 days of the most relaxing camp out at Smoky Bear Campground I have ever had.Every thing was very clean.
We camped with a group of 22 rigs. Chong and Berry O'Leary made all of us feel like family. They are in the campground every day talking and laughing with the campers.We had a nice place to play games and do any cooking for the camping club that needed to be done. The bathroom & shower are clean and brightly decorated. Bear carvings,flowers,hiking trails across the road and a Water fall as you go into Smoky Bear campground-A very HAPPY place. Our camping club enjoyed Smoky Bear Campground so much we will be going back in September. I agree with every word of Dick's posting of 4/5/09. forget the 5 star rating, it should be a 10. never before have my husband and i stayed at a campground that was so groomed and well kept as smoky bear. the sites are large and level and clean. bathrooms are as immaculate as the entire campground. the owners chong and barry are very friendly and helpful, and treat you like they have known you forever. any time we are in the gatlinburg,pigeon forge area, we have finally found a campground we could call home. congradulations to barry and chong, for having a 10 star campground.
Smoky Bear Campground and its owners and staff are the best (and friendliest) we have encountered. Our Good Sam RV club had 22 rigs there in April. We were all treated like family by Chong and Barry. Every want and need was quickly and efficiently provided. They're the BEST!! Every aspect of the campground is top notch, from cleanliness, level sites, beautiful flowers, fire ring with bench seating for gatherings, every detail is cared for! Our family recently stayed at Smokey Bear Campground. In all our years of camping, we have never stayed at a cleaner or more well kept campgound. The O'Leary's are awesome people!! Chong even volunteered to walk our dog if we were away from the campground for any length of time. We found this campground last year and enjoyed our stay. So this year, while heading south, we decided to stop here for 2-3 days. But, we enjoyed this campground so much, we stayed for 2 weeks! Our hosts, Chong & Barry, make you feel like family. The camground is clean, quite, and friendly; and in a beautiful area of our country. It is one of the finest campgrounds we have visited. Thank for making our stay so pleasant.

I wish there were rates listed. I am not comfortable sending in a reservation without any idea of what it would be costing. Also, the maxium size RV you can fit would be nice to know for those of us with larger RVs.
We just stayed eight days at Smoky Bear Campground and really enjoyed our stay. Every thing from the bathhouse to the laundry room was top notch. The campsites are level and spacious and we would recommend this campground to anyone.
We spent three nights at Smokey Bear and were pleased. The campground is quiet and very clean. Everyone was friendly and we enjoyed our stay very much. We plan to return later in the summer.
My family and I had a wonderful time at Smokey Bear. The four of us stayed at the Mama Bear Cabin and slept very comfortable. We were treated like family and love the beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend this place!
My family and I just got home from being there 8 days. It is a great campground with lots of nature. It is a super quiet place and away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg but close enough to drive to City Hall for the shuttle. We have had a great time and will be back. Thanks to Mrs O'Leary and all the gang there. Butch is a great singer and is very nice to chat with. They keep the campground in excellent condition and super clean. Thanks again and it should be 10 stars.
I can't say enough good things about this campground. We pulled our camper in and didn't even have to level it. As soon as a camper pulled out the owner started raking the site and leveling it out for the next camper. I think the bathhouse may have been cleaner than my bathroom at home. My parents stayed in Papa Bear cabin which was also very clean and comfy. The owners are wonderful. The campground is quiet, and made us feel very very safe! Can't wait to visit it again.
My family and I just recently returned from a 7 day stay at the campground. It is one of the best, if not the best, campground that we have ever visited. The Chong's are wonderful people and make you feel welcomed as soon as you arrive. Our 1st night there was Father's Day and Mrs. Chong came by our site, along with the other sites, and gave my husband a Father's Day present. The campground is very clean and the landscaping is beautiful. We will stay there on any future trips to the area! I would like to thank the entire staff & owners for such a wonderful stay.
Wow! What an excellent experience! I've been camping for 30+ years, and this is the best campground experience I've had. We had a great time; the owners were very pleasurable. The kids had fun in the pool and the adults enjoyed the hottub. The campsites were clean, well maintained, and the bathrooms were impeccable. It's a drive into Gatlinburg--about 15-20 minutes--but even my 2 year old was okay with the trips into town. Impeccably clean. Great care to detail. Very personable and very kid-friendly. Hosts made our children feel special with kid-friendly dance night and thoughtful prizes. Responsive to requests. Fun clubhouse for large family events. Highly recommend for any family; thank you for making our stay wonderful.

We had a great eight nights at the somkey bear campground, we cannot say enough good things about our stay. The five star rating is not high enough, its that good, and Chong does everything to make you feel welcome and at home. We stayed at the campground during the week of July 13th, 2009. We all (two adults and three kids) thought it was great and had a wonderful time. I'd like to come back for another week right now if I could. I also bought Butch's CD (the guy singing the song on the website) and it's excellent. Put me on the list for his next album. We just got back from our second visit to Smoky Bear. As always Chong and Barry were the perfect hosts, the campground is clean and very well run. Gatlinburg is a great place, there is a lot to do and see.

This is a fantastic campground and the owner/operators go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable! This was our second trip to Gatlinburg, TN, and our first to stay at Smoky Bear Campround, but it will definitely not be our last!
Barry and Chong made us feel like family, and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Chong conducted an Asian food cooking class and provided tons of samples for everyone to enjoy! Her sense of humor was great, and she made a rainy day so much fun!
Barry and Chong made a point of providing us with plenty of information and coupons to all of the local attractions. They were both very knowledgeable of the area, and we were so appreciative of their assistance.
We would definitely recommend this park to anyone visiting this area. It is a family park with lots of activities to keep everyone busy from tots to retirees! We traveled from Southern California to enjoy this beautiful area, but our stay at Smoky Bear Campground really was the most enjoyable part! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in late September of 2009. The campground was exceptionally clean and the bathrooms were spotless! Despite some heavy rain, it was a good trip and we're looking forward to visiting again.

We have been camping for more than 40 years. Tents, pop-ups, travel trailers, and motor home. We have been to a lot of different campgrounds through the years. The Smoky Bear Campground is by far the BEST we have ever visited. Barry and Chong are the friendliest and most helpful hosts we have ever met. It is always a pleasure to arrive at this campground.

Wow & Amazing!...that about sums up my daughter Alyssa and I's visit to Smokey Bear Campground. The sites are very clean, the rates are very reasonable, and the owners are some of the best proprieters I have come across while travelling in my RV. Chong (Wife/Owner) was so sweet and hospitable. My daughter absolutely loved her visit there,and really wants to go back again just to visit Chong and Barry!It's refreshing to deal with such down to earth, pleasant people. I look forward to staying there on my next visit to Gatlinburg.If you haven't already stayed here, I highly recommend it.

Just got back from 3 relaxing days at Smoky Bear Cg. Chong made us feel like we were family. The only thing that I didn't like was the limited number of cable channels, but what the heck, I was camping. Will be back in 2010.

By far the nicest campground I have EVER been to. We had a wonderful weekend. Wish we could have stayed alot longer. Very clean, great landscaping. A home away from home. We will definitely be back.
We've stayed here twice in the last 4 months and will stay here again on our next visit. Barry and Chong are more than great hosts, they are friends that we look forward to visiting again. They take a great deal of pride in their ownership of this campground and it relects in the cleanliness and care of the area. One word of warning, if you're looking for a place to make noise and cause problems for other campers-keep looking. Barry and Chong won't tolerate that. Randy Kimble

We recently spent 4 nights at Smokey Bear campground and all I can say is CLEAN, CLEAN, and FRIENDLY! Chong came by a couple times just to check on us and say Hi. Barry was very helpful with a couple minor issues I had with our camper.
The campground EXTREMELY well kept and Barry and Chong are obviously concerned that you enjoy your stay and are satisfied.
Smokey Bear is a little ways out of Gatlinburg but well worth the drive.
My kids were a little disapointed that Chong wasn't there the day we left as they wanted to take a group picture with her; In their words "SHE ROCKS"!
Finest campsite we have ever visited visited. Plenty of room for large motorhome. Bathrooms are as clean as any you will ever find-quiet and entire campground very well kept. Will return next trip to Eastern Tennesssee
We have just returned from a WONDERFUL week at Smoky Bear Campground. First we must say we were greeted with open arms by Chong and Barry.
The campsites were exceptionally clean and well maintained. The bathhouse was the nicest we have seen at any campground. We wil definitely return soon to enjoy their hospitality.
Our RV group of 3 rigs spent 05/16-05/22/10 at Smoky Bear Campground. It was fabulous. Chong and Barry made us feel welcome, and were constantly available to answer our questions. Chong does her daily walk to check on everyone's happiness while Barry does his walk late at night to make sure the campground is safe. Chong is a great artist, and has prints on sale at the office. The campground is beautiful, clean, easy to find, close to Gatlinburg, etc. Chong and Barry as well as the rest of the staff are nice as can be. We will definitely go back!! Thanks so much.
Last weekend my boyfriend & I were looking for a campground to stay at. It was a last minute trip. We stopped at Smoky Bear campground & they just had a cancellation. The hosts were unbelievably nice. We really enjoyed the campground. They really do treat you like family. We will always make our reservations at Smoky Bear campground. Its the only place to get peace & quiet relaxation. Thank you so much for making our weekend wonderful.
We spent 3 nights and wish we had more time. Chong and her husband made us feel we had known them forever, she was amazing with directions and she tipped us to a great family resturant Carver's Applehouse and Resturant we went two nights and were very happy we did. We will be making Smoky Bear a habit and have already e-mailed friends!!!
My husband and I spent six great nights at Smoky Bear Campground. It was so clean and tidy, including the pool and bathrooms! We felt very safe in the campground and Barry and Chong were always available if we needed them. We had wonderful neighbors and no one ever got out of hand. Dogs are VERY welcome. I highly recommend staying at Smoky Bear Campground...we will again!
We stayed here last weekend(Memorial Day Weekend)2010. This was our first camping trip and Berry and Chong were very helpful in every way. We loved our stay so much we have already made reservations for this fall.

We were here for the first week of June and had a wonderful time. We were planning to tent camp but encountered storms, so we stayed in the Mama Bear cabin and it was lovely. Very clean and the owners were extremely helpful. Thank you for the wonderful stay, we will be sure to recommend you.
Berry and Chong are very stand up owners. This was our fourth stay at their campground and we will be returning again. They both are experts at making guests happy and welcome.

I just cannot say enough about how wonderful this campground is! My family stayed there last week at a lovely tent site that was quiet and cozy. The entire campground is impeccably clean and well kept. Barry and Chong are incredible hosts. One afternoon, it rained while we were out and we had mistakenly left the windows in the tent open, and during the rain, Barry came down and zipped up the tent windows so no water would get into the tent! My kids had a blast in the pool and on the playground. When we vacation again in the Smoky Mountains, this will be the place we return to! We all just loved it!
we stayed at smokey bear campground for fathers day weekend 2010, i suprised my hubby with a trip away for just the two of us , we stayed in the caribou camper and we had so much fun it was extremely hot , and rained some , we feel in love with the camper , campground the whole nine yards , the owners of this campground are the kindest nicest people . we will surely be back and hopefully again this year , you guys are great and we had a wonderful relaxing weekend . thanks for all your hospitality we have found a wonderful new place to camp . if you are looking for a weekend getaway and want to have a great place stay for the weekend check out the caribou camper and these wonderful people . thanks again .
Stayed fathers day week lot 20.Cannot say enough about the hospitality and where they treat you like family.I have stayed at lot of different campgrounds and this is best.Chong and staff will go above and beyond to supply your needs.This is 2nd time here and will visit again.
We stayed at Smoky Bear campground over father's day weekend 2010. We picked Smoky Bear Campground based on the positive reviews we read on the internet, and we were not disappointed. Chong and Berry were great hosts, and the camp ground was very clean, with great facilities, and very convenient to Gatinburg, Pigeon Forge and Smoky Mountains National Park.
My husband and I spent a week at Smokey Bear Campground and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The park is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. Chong and Barry work very hard to assure their guests enjoy their experience. We chose Smokey Bear off the internet and had no idea as to what the park would be like. We visited other campgrounds during our stay to "check out the competition" and we were VERY pleased we chose Smokey Bear. The other camps couldn't hold a candle to Smokey Bear. We will definitely tell our friends and family to make reservations at Smokey Bear if they are ever in the Great Smokey Mountains. We will definitely plan a return trip soon! We have been staying at Smoky Bear Campground for the last 5 years. We have been camping for 32 years and there is not a campground anywhere that compares to theirs. Chong and Barry make the place feel like home. They are very professional and friendly at the same time. The facilities are awesome and sites are very well kept. They are by far the best in the Smokies. If you are looking for a great time and a comfortable stay look them up. They sincerely make the place the best. Trust a family who has been all over the US camping you won't regret it.

We recetly stayed at Smoky Bear. We did some hiking on Mt LeConte and Chong was very helpful with a special situation with that. It is so nice to be on the quiet side of town. The campsites, pool and facilities were so well kept. We will be back and will recommend it to all of our friends as well.

Recently stayed a week at Smoky Bear. The mountains are beautiful and worth the visit. We stayed in the Mama Bear cabin with family in nearby campsites. The campground is very clean and quiet. Chong went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time and were comfortable with our accommodations. The campground was always clean and is very nicely landscaped. I would recommend staying at Smoky Bear if you are planning a visit to the area.
Just called to reserve a tent spot for labor day weekend and was told they do not allow tenters over holidays. No mention of this on the website.
VERY POOR
Just returned from a weeks stay in the Papa Bear Cabin with our 3 children. Great campground, nice and quiet and clean. Not much for the kids to do on the actual campground but sooo much to do in the Smoky Mts. (w/w rafting, zipline, hiking, swimming, alpine slide etc...). So we would def. come back and visit again. Chong is the best!

Highly recommend! My son and I stayed for 6 enjoyable nights a couple of weeks ago. Great hosts, as well as a clean campground. Had all of the amenities, and well as an asphalt road, and sites decorated with plants. Yet, somehow you still feel like you are in the foothills to the Smokey Mountains. I will be back next year!

What a great time we had at this campground. We had a week long family gathering and Clong went out of her way to make sure we were set up together and met our every need. Chong & Barry go the extra mile for their guests. We just got back from our trip to Newfoundland and found they had sent us a post card sending their regards and safe journey on the trip. I have been to hundreds of campgrounds and no one else has every done that for us. Great Tennessee hospitality!
we spent a week at smokybear campground and we found it to be one of the best campgrounds we have ever found.we tent camp and was offerd shelter in the event of sudden severe weather.a testament to barry and chung(oweners)who care about your good time in and outside of there campground.barry and chung are very knowlegable about the area and will send you to the best places for the best bang for your buck the campground is wonderfully kept and we found barry and chung to be simply the best
We just got home after tent camping in the Smoky's at Smoky Bear Campground. What a blessing it was to be able to stay there~~it had everything we needed.
A clean warm bath/shower house after a cold night or coming off a hike up to Mt. LeConte.
A clubhouse that we used to carve our pumpkins and heat up dinner while the rain was coming down.
Hostess (Chong ~~Barry was out of town) and other staff that checked on us to make sure we were doing well throughout our stay.
A 'chili cookoff' where we were able to meet and fellowship with the other campers ~okay, so THEY were all in RV's. hehe
A secluded campsite that was nice to see the stars from at night.
What more could we ask for? It was a pleasure!! Thanks! !

We love the Smokies and visit there several times a year, so we will certainly be back to camp at the Smoky Bear Campground! We look forward to it already!

Another great trip to the mountains! Stayed at the Smoky Bear Campground. Barry and Chong are the most gracious hosts/owners! This was our second time staying with them and it won't be our last. Just stayed for 5 days during Spring break and had a great time in the Smokies. Barry and Chong were very helpful in pointing out some interesting activities in the area. Everything said here about the neatness and cleanliness is true. It is also a great value as full hookups and basic cable are included. The only drawback is we may not get to experience any other campgrounds in the area because my wife and girls will not stay anywhere else!

hospitality was 1st class. All the reviews stated were correct. Chong's personal written handouts pointed out ALL the imperative highlights to see and do. It seems that they GO out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. REALLY NICE people and place!!!!

5 Star is a perfect example of how nice this camp ground really is. The sign out front says it all. Chong and Barry and the rest of the staff went the extra mile to help me. The shower area was exceptionally clean and nicely decorated. I have a cabin here now and have really enjoyed my stay and everything is nicely organized throughout the camp. We've just returned from yet another stay at Smoky Bear Campground, and, as always, had a great time. The grounds are immaculate, as are all the facilities, and Barry and Chong are ever ready to help if you need anything. In fact, over the years they have become good friends. What's amazing about the campground is that they manage to run it so well and still have time to socialize. Last weekend we heard some great bluegrass music in the clubhouse, and many of the visitors contributed food -- wonderful! There were old and new faces and a mix of different states. This diversity and loyalty is proof of what Barry and Chong have achieved. Long may it continue!

We just spent a week at smoky bear for our honeymoon. We had a fabulous time siteseeing in TN but most of all we enjoyed the camping experience. We found this campground off the internet search and were drawn to it by the pictures and reviews and we were pleasantly surprised that everything we saw and read were true. The campground is well kept and extremely clean. The grounds are beautiful and most of all, Barry and chong go out of their way to make sure you are treated like family.
Thank you for the wedding gift. A pillow that turns into a bear. They also sell them in their gift shop. It is adorable and has become a permanent part of our camper.
We had storms come through and Barry went door to door making sure we know where to go to be safe if a tornado hit.
Chong gave us lots of advice on siteseeing so we don't waste our money.

A huge thanks to Chong and Barry for a wonderful week! My husband and I agree that 5 stars isn't high enough for this place. It is spotless, beautifully landscaped, and there is great attention to detail as others have mentioned, but the best part is Chong and Barry. They make you feel like family, and take care of you as if they'd known you for years. We even went to a potluck dinner Chong put on during the week we were there and listened to live music and got to know our fellow campers. I have never come across such hospitality in the many months of camping I have done over the years. We can't wait to go back. Although the campground is a destination in and of itself I believe, the Smokeys are truly gorgeous and we even saw bears on our drive in the park! THANKS!!!

Even though we’re not old hands at RV parks, we know a good & reasonably priced one when we visit it. Our recent stay at Smoky Bear RV Resort @ Gatlinburg, TN was the most pleasant yet. The owners who are residents themselves could not have been more courteous and helpful. Throughout the day they and their staff could be seen primping the park so those of us staying there would be hard pressed to find anything wrong with the park or our stay. The pads are roomy with plenty of shade and ample parking for RV & car. We had a 50 amp full service pull through with a concrete pad long enough to park our 38 ft MH & tow car and still had room to spare. In the area you will find hundreds of other RV parking sites but few if any, as pleasant and well kept. Most of the other RV parking we saw during our week’s stay at Smoky Bear, wouldn’t compare. We enjoyed a quiet, family friendly park with clean modern facilities. The pool, pads, and baths were all kept in top condition. A bit of heaven in the Smokies for sure and within a short drive to all the attractions as well. Our week there was a quiet, peaceful, memorable one for sure. Truly a 5 star stay thanks to the owners Barry & Chong O’Leary along with their fine staff. No complaints, a two thumbs up.

What a GREAT place to stay at while in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The O'Leary's made us feel like family. I couldn't agree more with others who have commented how incredibly clean the campground is. We only stayed for an overnight. Next time it will be longer. Campground was easy to find, clean, great swimming pool, everyone was friendly and helpful with directions. Berry was great helping us get our camper into our site. We looked at other campgrounds but are so glad we stayed here.

We stayed in this campground in mid September of 2010 for 4 or 5 days. This is one of the best kept campgrounds we have ever stayed in and have it on our list to return to.
Chong was very helpful setting up our prior reservations and we stayed on one of the concrete pull-thru sites. The 37 foot 5th wheel fit perfectly. It was great!

We had a wonderful time at this campground last weekend. Clean bathrooms and beautifully landscaped grounds. My kids loved playing on the playground and shooting hoops at the basketball court. We will definitely go back! The location is far enough out of all the crowds and traffic but close enough to all the attractions of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Thanks to the owners for their hospitality while we were visiting....especially helping us back our camper in! :)
We stayed with Barry and Chong during spring break 2011. Great campground and hosts to match. The location is quiet yet close enough to anything you want or need. My Husband, myself and our 2 children stayed here in August 2010. I've finally gotten around to leaving this review. Not only were the campground and facilities top notch, so was the service! There were several times during our 4 night stay that the owners showed very personalized hospitality to us and our children. We spent the week walking the trails in the Smoky Mountains and came back each afternoon/ evening to a soothing hot tub and swimming pool. Restroom/ shower facilities were always clean and in good shape. We live in Knoxville, so will definitely be back the next time we decide to go camping!
This place is fantastic. Barry and Chong are wonderful hosts, incredibly personable and friendly, make us feel that this is a home-away-from-home, and the sites are super. This is our second year coming here and already have next year booked. If you haven't been here, you don't have any idea what you're missing.
Clearly better than any other 5 star campground that we've visited. It's worth going out of your way to stay here, and make your stay for more than a couple of days.
The campground is very, very clean. Absolutely wonderful hosts. Good laundry and bath facilities, and the national park is at your doorstep. Chong has been very good at giving us great ideas of how we can get the best out of our visit tho the park. Although we have tried to avoid them, if you want to visit either Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, they're within easy striking distance. It's a great home base!

This was our first time staying in the Smoky Mountains. My daughter in law researched looking for the perfect spot to have their wedding. After many days of research she found the perfect spot for the wedding and reception without breaking the bank. The wedding took place in the campground in the park and the reception in the clubhouse. We brought allot of the decorations from Illinois and the rest from North Carolina where our son and his new wife now live. Barry and Chong were very helpful with everything, with their experience in catering; they made a delicious meal for the reception. The wedding venue was very laid back. The bride wore a dress and her cowboy boots, the groom jeans and white shirt with camo t-shirt underneath. All other attendees wore jeans. Barry and Chong are wonderful host. The cabin we rented was perfect, our granddaughters loved sleeping in the loft. All of the campgrounds/sites were very clean. There was always someone out looking to make sure everything was going okay. Everyone was so nice and we were felt very much at home. I was a little concerned after we decorated the clubhouse and put all the gifts in there. Barry and Chong reassured me that everyone that stayed with them were honest people. We never locked the cabin while we stayed there. I can’t wait to come back and see some of the sites. Barry and Chong catered the wedding themselves, the food was great, especially her special dip. Barry and Chong were like family, even though this was our first meeting. I’ll definitely go back. See ya next year.

The most comfortable and personable campground sight in that area. We've called many of them. None of them went out of their way on the phone to make us feel welcome as Mrs. Chong and Mr. Barry. Upon arrival after a long hard day and drive we were welcomed by none other than Mrs. Chong. The park is immaculate to say the least. In the middle of a very severe lightning storm Mr. Barry was riding around in a golf cart to check on all the guests in the campers and cabins. They are wonderful people and offer nothing less than a warm family atmosphere with accomodations enough to keep you happy and peaceful for a content and welcome stay. Thank you very much for your time. Even when the electric went out in the cabin we were happy! We will always return. 5 Star rating isn't enough for this park. Not large. Our family just enjoyed a wonderful week's stay in the Smokies at Smoky Bear Campground! I researched just about every campground in the area before choosing Smoky Bear. Having a travel trailer, so many campgrounds have felt like "parking lots" to us, but this campground has plenty of trees in their sites, is nicely landscaped, and very well-maintained all around.
When making my on-line reservation, I typed a few questions in the comment box, and Chong personally called me back the next day. I have never had that kind of customer service from any campground at which we've stayed before. I was impressed before we even arrived!
During our stay, Chong and Barry were wonderful hosts. Chong gave us some great suggestions about places to visit during our stay, and we have great memories now because of her recommendations. :). My two kids were especially excited when she treated them to Popsicles on a really hot day!
If we ever make it back to the Smokies for another family vacation, we will absolutely stay here! We just left this morning, and I'm already missing the good times we had! Thanks, Chong and Barry, for a great vacation!

As a wedding gift a year ago, Chong gave us one of her framed creations, which we proudly display in our RV. (She’s a great artist). This year, we were there for our anniversary and Chong was helpful in planning a fun-filled week of hiking, biking, zipping, shopping (wife’s favorite), and eating (my favorite).
There is one more thing that I did not read in the other reviews but I feel is a huge plus. The campsites are terraced, which gives you privacy and views you don’t get from other campgrounds. When you open the blinds in the morning and sit down with your favorite cup of coffee or tea, you feel as though you are a part of nature, and the view is mesmerizing.
Our only regret is we don’t live closer so we could go once a month instead of once a year. Thanks again Barry and Chong. Best vacation ever!

We just returned from a visit to the Smoky Mountains and we stayed at this campground. It was a very pleasant stay, quiet and peaceful. The owners could not be nice. They make sure to ask how your stay is going as they work around the campground or walk around. The campground is nice, clean, well maintained and the bathrooms are A+. Highly recommend staying here whether you are in a tent, a pop-up, or larger RV.
I work camped at Smoky Bear Campground this last summer. I must say that before I went, I looked at all the reviews online, and thought it sounded too good to true. I took the job, and my wife and I arrived in mid-May and stayed till the end of August. I was surprised to find that everything was true. This is certainly the cleanest and most well maintained campground you will find. Deserving more than 5 Stars!, Chong and Barry, the owners are great to work for, I personally saw them do everything in their power to make sure all guests were happy, as well as their employees. I must say that everyone working there were great to work with, and to know. I look forward to returning to this great little place in the Smoky Mountains.
