Big thumbs up! I stayed there a couple of days last week and was impressed by how clean and orderly everything is. Not a stone out of place! Looking forward to returning later in the season when the pool is open and enjoying the summer activities too!
WE HAVE STAYED THERE THE LAST FOUR YEARS, AND WE LOVE STAYING THERE. WE GO EVERY OCTOBER, ON OUR ANNIVERSARY. BARRY AND CHONG ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND THEIR CAMP SITES ARE VERY LEVEL, AND CAMPSITE AREA IS VERY CLEAN.
My Wife and I recently spent 9 nights at the Smoky Bear Campground with our wonderful & superb hosts, Chong & Barry O' Leary. The "5 Star" rating isn't high enough.....there should be a "6 Star rating" for a place like Smoky Bear Campground because the intricate attention to detail is in everything that you use, see, or touch all during your stay. The bathroom/shower facilities are spotlessly clean, and nicely decorated, as is the laundry facilities, and the entire RV Park & Campground. The newly cemented pull through sites are indicative of the attention to detail because they are perfectly level and have just a slight taper on the left side of the pad, that allows for better drainage of fluids through the septic hose. My Wife and I have camped in KOA's and privately owned campsites from Alaska to Louisiana, from Michigan to Washington State, and we have never - ever been in a RV Park like Smoky Bear Campground. The personal attention that Chong & Barry give to their customers, and their ability to make you feel like their family is wonderful and something I have never experienced from owners/caretakers of any RV Park we have stayed in throughout the United States. Just returned from 5 days of the most relaxing camp out at Smoky Bear Campground I have ever had.Every thing was very clean.
We camped with a group of 22 rigs. Chong and Berry O'Leary made all of us feel like family. They are in the campground every day talking and laughing with the campers.We had a nice place to play games and do any cooking for the camping club that needed to be done. The bathroom & shower are clean and brightly decorated. Bear carvings,flowers,hiking trails across the road and a Water fall as you go into Smoky Bear campground-A very HAPPY place. Our camping club enjoyed Smoky Bear Campground so much we will be going back in September. I agree with every word of Dick's posting of 4/5/09. forget the 5 star rating, it should be a 10. never before have my husband and i stayed at a campground that was so groomed and well kept as smoky bear. the sites are large and level and clean. bathrooms are as immaculate as the entire campground. the owners chong and barry are very friendly and helpful, and treat you like they have known you forever. any time we are in the gatlinburg,pigeon forge area, we have finally found a campground we could call home. congradulations to barry and chong, for having a 10 star campground.
Smoky Bear Campground and its owners and staff are the best (and friendliest) we have encountered. Our Good Sam RV club had 22 rigs there in April. We were all treated like family by Chong and Barry. Every want and need was quickly and efficiently provided. They're the BEST!! Every aspect of the campground is top notch, from cleanliness, level sites, beautiful flowers, fire ring with bench seating for gatherings, every detail is cared for! Our family recently stayed at Smokey Bear Campground. In all our years of camping, we have never stayed at a cleaner or more well kept campgound. The O'Leary's are awesome people!! Chong even volunteered to walk our dog if we were away from the campground for any length of time. We would recommend Smokey Bear Campground to everyone and we would certainly stay there again if we were in the area. Thanks to you both, Chong and Barry. Always, the John May family:)
My husband and I stayed at Smoky Bear last year, and plan to return!! Everything was wonderful, and Chong and Barry treat you like family. We found this campground last year and enjoyed our stay. So this year, while heading south, we decided to stop here for 2-3 days. But, we enjoyed this campground so much, we stayed for 2 weeks! Our hosts, Chong & Barry, make you feel like family. The camground is clean, quite, and friendly; and in a beautiful area of our country. It is one of the finest campgrounds we have visited. Thank for making our stay so pleasant.

A cleaner or better kept campground is not to be had and the two of you and your staff could not be more friendly or helpful. These are just a few of the reasons thatSMOKY BEAR is the only campground that we elect to visit twice year after year. See you in September.

I wish there were rates listed. I am not comfortable sending in a reservation without any idea of what it would be costing. Also, the maxium size RV you can fit would be nice to know for those of us with larger RVs.
We just stayed eight days at Smoky Bear Campground and really enjoyed our stay. Every thing from the bathhouse to the laundry room was top notch. The campsites are level and spacious and we would recommend this campground to anyone.
We spent three nights at Smokey Bear and were pleased. The campground is quiet and very clean. Everyone was friendly and we enjoyed our stay very much. We plan to return later in the summer.
My family and I had a wonderful time at Smokey Bear. The four of us stayed at the Mama Bear Cabin and slept very comfortable. We were treated like family and love the beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend this place!
My family and I just got home from being there 8 days. It is a great campground with lots of nature. It is a super quiet place and away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg but close enough to drive to City Hall for the shuttle. We have had a great time and will be back. Thanks to Mrs O'Leary and all the gang there. Butch is a great singer and is very nice to chat with. They keep the campground in excellent condition and super clean. Thanks again and it should be 10 stars.
I can't say enough good things about this campground. We pulled our camper in and didn't even have to level it. As soon as a camper pulled out the owner started raking the site and leveling it out for the next camper. I think the bathhouse may have been cleaner than my bathroom at home. My parents stayed in Papa Bear cabin which was also very clean and comfy. The owners are wonderful. The campground is quiet, and made us feel very very safe! Can't wait to visit it again.
My family and I just recently returned from a 7 day stay at the campground. It is one of the best, if not the best, campground that we have ever visited. The Chong's are wonderful people and make you feel welcomed as soon as you arrive. Our 1st night there was Father's Day and Mrs. Chong came by our site, along with the other sites, and gave my husband a Father's Day present. The campground is very clean and the landscaping is beautiful. We will stay there on any future trips to the area! I would like to thank the entire staff & owners for such a wonderful stay.
Wow! What an excellent experience! I've been camping for 30+ years, and this is the best campground experience I've had. We had a great time; the owners were very pleasurable. The kids had fun in the pool and the adults enjoyed the hottub. The campsites were clean, well maintained, and the bathrooms were impeccable. It's a drive into Gatlinburg--about 15-20 minutes--but even my 2 year old was okay with the trips into town. Impeccably clean. Great care to detail. Very personable and very kid-friendly. Hosts made our children feel special with kid-friendly dance night and thoughtful prizes. Responsive to requests. Fun clubhouse for large family events. Highly recommend for any family; thank you for making our stay wonderful.

We had a great eight nights at the somkey bear campground, we cannot say enough good things about our stay. The five star rating is not high enough, its that good, and Chong does everything to make you feel welcome and at home. The location makes it easy to see the sights, and after a day of sightseeing a first class campground awaits, thanks Chong. Mike and Pat
We stayed at the campground during the week of July 13th, 2009. We all (two adults and three kids) thought it was great and had a wonderful time. I'd like to come back for another week right now if I could. I also bought Butch's CD (the guy singing the song on the website) and it's excellent. Put me on the list for his next album. We just got back from our second visit to Smoky Bear. As always Chong and Barry were the perfect hosts, the campground is clean and very well run. Gatlinburg is a great place, there is a lot to do and see.

This is a fantastic campground and the owner/operators go out of their way to make sure your stay is enjoyable! This was our second trip to Gatlinburg, TN, and our first to stay at Smoky Bear Campround, but it will definitely not be our last!
Barry and Chong made us feel like family, and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Chong conducted an Asian food cooking class and provided tons of samples for everyone to enjoy! Her sense of humor was great, and she made a rainy day so much fun!
Barry and Chong made a point of providing us with plenty of information and coupons to all of the local attractions. They were both very knowledgeable of the area, and we were so appreciative of their assistance.
We would definitely recommend this park to anyone visiting this area. It is a family park with lots of activities to keep everyone busy from tots to retirees! We traveled from Southern California to enjoy this beautiful area, but our stay at Smoky Bear Campground really was the most enjoyable part! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in late September of 2009. The campground was exceptionally clean and the bathrooms were spotless! Despite some heavy rain, it was a good trip and we're looking forward to visiting again.

WELL AS FOR AS NICE PEOPLE AND CLEAN THE CAMPGROUND IT WAS BUT BARRY IS VERY RUDE AND NOT VERY KID FRIENDLY WE WERE BEING VERY QUIET AND WHERE ASK TO KEEP IT DOWN AND THE NEXT DAY A LITTLE BOY WAS RIDING HIS BIKE AND WAS VERY RUDELY TOLD TO GET OFF SO WE WILL NOT BE STAYING AT SMOKEYBEAR CAMPGROUND AGAIN
Well chong and barry now you have really out done yourself. my wife and i stayed with you on lot 49, your hospility was really great. I will always return.the trails were awsome and the cleanest bathhouses ever.

Just arrived home after a 4 night stay and couldn't be more pleased. Barry and Chong are great hosts and the campground itself is immaculate. It was one of the nicest, if not THE nicest place we have camped. We will definitely be back the next trip to Gatlinburg. (P.S. Thanks Barry & Chong for the coffee):-)

We have been camping for more than 40 years. Tents, pop-ups, travel trailers, and motor home. We have been to a lot of different campgrounds through the years. The Smoky Bear Campground is by far the BEST we have ever visited. Barry and Chong are the friendliest and most helpful hosts we have ever met. It is always a pleasure to arrive at this campground.

Wow & Amazing!...that about sums up my daughter Alyssa and I's visit to Smokey Bear Campground. The sites are very clean, the rates are very reasonable, and the owners are some of the best proprieters I have come across while travelling in my RV. Chong (Wife/Owner) was so sweet and hospitable. My daughter absolutely loved her visit there,and really wants to go back again just to visit Chong and Barry!It's refreshing to deal with such down to earth, pleasant people. I look forward to staying there on my next visit to Gatlinburg.If you haven't already stayed here, I highly recommend it.

Just got back from 3 relaxing days at Smoky Bear Cg. Chong made us feel like we were family. The only thing that I didn't like was the limited number of cable channels, but what the heck, I was camping. Will be back in 2010.

By far the nicest campground I have EVER been to. We had a wonderful weekend. Wish we could have stayed alot longer. Very clean, great landscaping. A home away from home. We will definitely be back.
